Meet Khalida Siamer
Khalida has spent more than ten years caring for and teaching young children, and she opened La Petite Garderie to do it the way she believes it should be done: a small group, a real curriculum, and a home where every child is genuinely known. She is also a mother of four — very little about young children surprises her.
She is completing an Associate’s Degree in Child Development, having finished her child development coursework through community college, and keeps her practice current through regular conferences and bi-monthly early-childhood seminars. She is certified in pediatric CPR and First Aid, and speaks English, French, and Arabic.
One consistent teacher from six months to five years means the teacher who sends your child off to kindergarten is the same one who held them as a baby. Parents describe it simply — “she truly treats all the kids as her own.”

A licensed home, held to real standards
La Petite Garderie is a licensed family child care home — California license #434417282, licensed since 2022 and inspected by the Department of Social Services, with a record of zero complaints and zero citations.
Our group stays small by license and by conviction: never more than twelve children, with no more than four infants, and an assistant teacher alongside Khalida as the program grows. Enrollment is managed so that every age gets the attention its stage demands.
Safety practices
- Regular fire and earthquake drills, with a written emergency plan and a designated evacuation site nearby.
- Children are released only to adults you have authorized in writing — ID checked if we have not met them.
- Clear illness and medication practices that protect the whole group, explained plainly before you enroll.
- No screens standing in for teaching — days are built from materials, play, and conversation.
